It's not important but I'm just curious. Of all of you here, did any of you buy the VHS of 'Ever After' at Revco (now known as CVS) when it was first released it came with a small black (enameled or painted on because it chipped like mad) ball chain. I'm just curious if any of you had this? It was glued onto the box on the front. I've had mine for 12 or 13 years and I'm dying to know if anyone still owns theirs (if they had owned it at all)

Is it any wonder I'm a newborn Kirk/McCoy fan? I mean my favorite SG-1 slash paring is Cam/Dan *grins* Oh Gah! I so need the movie adaptation novel (slashier than the movie or so I've heard!). Daniel/Vala is still my #1 pairing in SG-1 ever BUT I have Cam/Dan as my #1 slash pairing (I don't like Jack/Daniel, there's too much of it and I gets on my nerves. Ditto for Jack/Sam and Daniel/Sam, whenever I see it)Maybe I'll swoop down to food city and wrangle up an Amazon gift certificate, seeing as I only have about half the price of the book remaining from the last time I used one. That's not even counting shipping. Oi!

Can't wait for CSI and CSI:NY tonight. I hope it's Stella that gets killed off. I'd hate it if it was anyone else but her (especially Danny or Lindsay). It isn't that I don't like's just I'm less emotionally attached to her than I am the others. Especially as a storyline involving her just finished last night.

Also squirming in my chair to see A&D on Friday. The soundtrack has me all excited and goosebumpy for it.

Also I seem to be typing "Demons" as "Deomns" a lot lately like99.99999999% of the time. I have to really concentrate to get it right the first time.

Tweaked my layout. I was sick and tired of the black/gray/white look and now it's purple/green/white (but sensibly chosen variations). Guh, I need to get some shut eye.

Out of all of these there's only 3 or 4 I can truly say I'm ashamed to own:

Plum Lucky by Janet Evanovich
The Grand Finale by Janet Evanovich
Ever After : A Cinderella Story by Wendy Loggia (Movie Adaptation novel)
Walt Disney's Cinderella by TokyoPop (Bought this in remembrance of my very first book as a child by Golden Book)
Coruscant Nights I: Jedi Twilight by Michael Reaves
Coruscant Nights II: Street of Shadows by Michael Reaves
Coruscant Nights III: Patterns of the Force by Michael Reaves
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire by Steve Perry
Star Wars: The Truce at Bakura by Kathy Tyers
Star Wars: The Courtship of Princess Leia by Dave Wolverton
Star Wars: Tatooine Ghost by Troy Denning
Star Wars: Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor by Matthew Stover
Greek and Roman Gods and Goddesses by Kimberly A. Lathem
Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx
Little Town on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder
These Happy Golden Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Adding these as I go in order as they come on my bookshelves. Behind a cut because the list was getting long. )
And Ladies and/or Gents that's not even counting my modestly-sized graphic novel collection! Not to mention all the books I have in storage!

taken from someone or another

1. Do you snack while you read? If so, favourite reading snack?
I really try not too unless I'm really hungry. I hate having anything stain or grease up my pages. I also hate rolled spines and folded corners.

2. Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?

You will not see me EVER write in a book unless in just inside the cover to mark ownership. Usually in as *small as I can stand* handwriting.

3. How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open?
See Answer #1. I either use a bookmark, spare piece of paper or whatever else I have laying around. I refuse to abuse!

4. Fiction, Non-fiction, or both?
Fiction. Only on the rarest occasion n will you catch me reading a book that is non-fiction. In fact the only non-fiction book you will see on my bookshelves, at any given time is The Diary of Anne Frank. I do though like diction based on actually people or events the "Little House" series has been a mainstay for as long as I've known how to read.

5. Hard copy or audio books?
Hard copy. Audiobooks are an absolute last resort for me. (unless something comes in Audio only, then I will consider it.)

6. Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?
Any given point. Books can wait. Potty breaks can't. Twilight I find myself putting down several times a page. I find myself wanting to finish Angels & Demons to refresh my memory before I go see the movie.

7. If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away? Write it down to look it up later? Just try to infer what it means from the rest of the sentence, and keep going?

Most of the time, without vanity, I'll check it out an They have been most helpful in the past. In fact, despite the fact that I only have a High School degree, I've been told I have a collegiate vocabulary.

8. What are you currently reading?

Seriously? Too many books to really count but I'll give it a shot

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Darcy's Story by Janet Alymer
Great Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe
Transformers: The Veiled Threat by Alan Dean Foster

And those are just the books I can remember

9. What is the last book you bought?
Transformers: The Veiled Threat by Alan Dean Foster

10. Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can read more than one at a time?
See the Answer to #8 I'm a multi-tasking reader.

11. Do you like re-reading books?
Yes. That's why I can't bear to part with any of my books.

What can I say when it comes to my books most of the time I'm all:

Hands off the precious!

Hee. Nothing gets my blood pumping like a verbal reading of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart". Oh such fun.

Finished reading P&P&Z a while ago I loved it but I found myself wanting more want of Zombies and the slaying of zombies. After that I read "Me & Mr. Darcy" (Loved it despite the bad reviews) I feel this is something any (female) fan of Mr. Darcy should read if their searching for their own.

Also trying to read Twilight (again) but the writing is no bad that I find myself setting the book aside every few sentence. Definitely not enough to keep my attention in the long run, but I am trying at least. In the meantime as I'm trying to read the aforementioned horrible book, I find myself also trying to finish other books that I've started (or want to re-read) such as Angels & Demons, Darcy's Story, The Veiled Threat (An in between transformers movies novel or rather a prequel to the second), Patterns of the Force (the 3rd novel in the Coruscant Nights trilogy) and all the while I'm working my way through the Naboo Chronicles series on FFN. My God there's some purple prose there and WAY too much use of the word "angel" *gags*. Despite that though it's s decent story line for an AU (What if Anakin wasn't accepted for training and the Naboo has taken him in?) so I'd trudging my way through that.

Meanwhile I'm going to see Star trek Friday or Saturday, Friday if I can talk my Mother into it (I hate going to the movies by myself) But if not I'm thinking of taking in a show Friday Night with or without her. (Yes I want to see it that badly) Not to mention a week after that the A&D movie will be released and It seems movie season is here once again. Sure I did/do want to see the Wolverine Origin film (Yum! Gambit!) but I think I'll wait for the DVD to come out before I see that.

But for now. I was randomly surfing around, curious to see if there will be a new iPod Nano this year (despite the fact I've decided not to buy one if they do) I came across someone's clever mock up of a tablet iPod (which I call iTab or iPad) in which I've decided that if Apple ever makes one of these. I will buy that baby without hesitation (once I had the money for it)

Man, I can't stop drooling over it!

Trying to read Twilight again. Can't get through a single page without rolling my eyes at least twice or yelling.

Not crazy about the layouts here (or the icon limit) but there are many things that make up for others.

I've just been randomly selected at Dreamwidth and sent a code! Yay! Even though registration is open April 30, I went ahead and used the code I got before my choice of username was snapped up. For this journal I've decided on applejack. Named for my favorite MLP, go ahead and yuk it up...I loved that pony.

This is a bit different than what I'm used to. I'll probably start off slow here adding an entry here and there. I'll also probably wait and see how big this (dreamwidth) gets. Hopefully I'll like it just as much as my lj.

Yay! DW seems to work well with the LJ-client Semagic. I post no other way unless it can be helped.
